Rev. Dr. Kim Kinsey

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she was baptized at St. Paul and later found a formative church home at Asbury, where she participated in youth group, choir, handbells, lay reading, and Sunday school leadership. Asbury became the place where she was confirmed, committed her life to Christ, and answered her call to ministry, encouraged by the guidance of Milton Propp and Rodney Roberts.

She earned her undergraduate degree from McMurry University, completed seminary at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and was ordained a deacon in 1990 and an elder in 1993.

Her ministry has included service in churches across New Mexico and Texas, as well as conference leadership as Coordinator of Youth, chair of the Board of Ordained Ministry, and a mentor to candidates and new pastors.

Committed to helping congregations grow, heal, and thrive, she earned her Doctor of Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2024, with work focused on congregational life cycles, health, and renewal.

She is delighted to return to her home church and looks forward to shared ministry as the congregation continues its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
