Soul Care Retreat—A Day for Relaxation & Growth
If your “me time” is more like “no time” and your love tank is running on empty, then we invite you to refresh your soul at the Soul Care Retreat on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Asbury United Methodist Church.
Hosted by Asbury UWF, the all-day retreat will have a lot of healing elements: music, prayer, study, good food, crafts, community, conversation, and an abundance of inspiration!
The keynote speaker is Apostle Sylvia L. Williams, international speaker, published author, and co-pastor with husband Lee Williams at Merciful Ministries International Apostolic Center in Redford, MI.
The Soul Care Retreat’s theme gives you a clue about the content:
Praise. Pray. Live. Breathe.
Events kick off at 8:30 am with registration and refreshments, and close at 4:30 pm with praise and worship. In between, participants will explore how prayer can refresh as well as sustain, create a custom praise-and-prayer Bible, discover their spiritual gifts, and find new energy together with other women seeking God’s renewing touch.
“If those attending the retreat get half as much from the experience as the planning team is already enjoying, then it will be a success,” says event founder Vicki Kerley. Kerley is also president of the Asbury UWF unit.
More About Our Speaker
Sylvia L. Williams is also the founder and apostle of two ministries—He Giveth More Grace Ministries, a non-denominational ministry devoted to teaching, training, and equipping members of the Body of Christ to fulfill God’s call upon their lives, and Women of Destiny and Grace, a ministry focusing on the emotional and spiritual development of women from all walks of life.
Williams is known for turning “wimps into warriors” through her prophetic teachings and apostolic training. She also has 40 years of journalistic experience and uses her God-given gifts for writing and editing in both the Christian and secular world. Some of her publications include her most recent book, "The Womb of Your Prayers: Birthing God’s Answer to Your Intercession,” published in 2021, and her 2004 prayer manual, "Spiritual Warfare and Breakthrough Prayer", which is no longer in circulation.
